Simrad — Marine Electronics for Sportfish and Performance Powerboats
Simrad is the sportfish and offshore powerboat brand of choice. From center consoles chasing tuna to 60-foot convertibles running offshore, Simrad's NSS, NSX, and NSO Evo3S multifunction displays deliver fast, fluid performance with the deep fishing tools serious anglers expect — StructureScan 3D, ForwardScan, and Active Imaging HD sonar from the same Navico family that powers Lowrance.
Why Simrad
While Garmin and Raymarine cast a wide net, Simrad doubles down on serious offshore use. The NSO Evo3S glass-helm system is the same hardware used by tournament-level sportfish builders. The Halo 20+, 24, and Halo Open Array radars deliver class-leading short-range target separation. The Continuous autopilots track bait schools, support No Drift mode, and integrate with Mercury, Yamaha, and Suzuki engines for trolling speed control. For anglers and offshore boaters, Simrad is the platform built for how you actually fish.
Sportfish & Offshore Simrad Installations
A Simrad sportfish install is its own discipline — high-performance hull transducer placement, radar mast and tower-arch mounting, engine integration for Mercury VesselView and Yamaha CL7, and a multi-display network engineered for tournament-level reliability. Our team builds Simrad systems on everything from 24-foot bay boats to 70-foot convertibles, including transducer fairing, radar tower work, multi-station autopilot control, and complete NMEA 2000 backbones designed for the long offshore runs. Simrad FAQ
How is Simrad different from B&G and Lowrance?
All three come from the same Navico family and share much of the same technology. Simrad is aimed at powerboats and offshore fishing, B&G at sailboats, and Lowrance at smaller fishing boats. Pick the brand whose software fits how you use the boat.
Radar dome or open array?
A dome (radome) is compact and light, and fits most boats with a hardtop or small arch. An open array gives better target separation and range, but it needs the mounting space and a stronger arch or mast. Shop Simrad radar.
Can a Simrad display show my engine data?
Yes, if your engines put data on NMEA 2000, either directly or through the engine maker's gateway. Check what gateway your engine needs before planning the install.
Can you install Simrad electronics?
Yes. We install Simrad systems throughout Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay. Call (410) 263-0807 or contact us.
