My trim won't work. Is it the motor?

Check the simple things first: the trim switch, the trim relays, the fuse or breaker, and the wiring connections. If the motor hums or runs but the drive doesn't move, the problem may be low fluid or the hydraulic pump rather than the motor. Trim relays are in solenoids, relays & regulators.

What does a trim sender do?

The trim sender reports the drive or engine position to the trim gauge at the helm. If the gauge reads wrong or not at all while the trim itself works, the sender or its wiring is a likely cause. Match the sender to your engine make and model.
