Blue Sea Busbars & Connectors FAQ

How many cables can go on one stud?

ABYC limits a single terminal stud to four conductors. Once you hit that, add a busbar or a larger one. Use ring terminals sized to the stud, like our Ancor terminals & connectors.

Busbar or terminal block?

A busbar ties many conductors to one common point, such as all your DC negatives. A terminal block gives each circuit its own pair of screws, which suits joining or extending smaller branch wires. Jumpers let you tie terminal block positions together when needed.

Do positive connections need covers?

Yes. Exposed positive terminals and busbars should be covered so a dropped wrench or loose item can't short them to ground. CableCap insulators and busbar covers handle that for little cost.
