B&G Instruments FAQ

What sensors does a sailing instrument system need?

A basic system uses a masthead wind sensor, a speed and depth transducer in the hull, and a heading sensor. The displays share that data over the network, and the same sensors feed a B&G autopilot if you add one.

What is a Nemesis display for?

Nemesis is a large-format display meant to be mounted on the mast so crew can read numbers from anywhere on deck. Racing crews use it for boat speed, wind angle, and targets while trimming.

Can you install a masthead wind sensor?

Yes. Masthead work means going aloft or doing it with the mast unstepped, plus running cable through the mast, so plan it with your haul-out if you can. We install throughout Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay. Call (410) 263-0807 or contact us.
