Marinco Horns FAQ
Why does my horn sound weak?
Weak horns are often a wiring problem: corroded connections, a poor ground, or wire too small for the run causing voltage drop. Check the connections and the voltage at the horn while it's sounding before replacing it.
Do I need a 12V or 24V horn?
Match the horn to your boat's DC system voltage. Running a 12V horn on 24V will damage it, and a 24V horn on 12V will be weak.
How big a horn does my boat need?
Sound-signal requirements depend on boat length, so check the Navigation Rules for your size. Larger boats generally need louder horns that carry farther.
