Egis Battery Switches & Management FAQ

What is a dual-circuit battery switch?

A dual-circuit switch puts two separate on/off switches in one housing, typically one for the house bank and one for the starting bank. It keeps the two circuits isolated while giving you one place to shut everything down. Pair it with an ACR if you want both banks charged automatically.

How do I match a battery switch to my system?

The switch's continuous rating should be at or above the most current the circuit will carry for long periods. Engine cranking is a short, high draw, so switches also list an intermittent rating. Check both against your loads and cable size.

Where should a battery switch be mounted?

Mount it in the positive cable as close to the batteries as practical, in a spot you can reach quickly in an emergency. Keep the cable runs short and well supported, and use properly sized battery cable and lugs.
