Does an adapter give me more power?
No. The circuit is limited by the smallest rating in the chain. A 50A boat plugged into a 30A pedestal through an adapter still only has 30A available, so you may need to limit how many loads run at once.
What does a Y-adapter do?
A Y-adapter combines two pedestal outlets into one connection, or splits one into two, depending on direction. Read the female and male ends in the product title carefully; the female end connects to the cord coming from the source side.
Is it safe to leave an adapter connected?
Use adapters rated for the full current and keep the connections dry and tight. Check them for heat or discoloration like you would a cord end, and replace any adapter that shows damage.
