What does "Top Plate Required" mean?
Seaview modular mounts are sold as a base and post, with a separate top plate that matches your specific radar or dome. Order the mount and the top plate made for your unit; titles note which mounts (M1 or M2) a plate fits.
How tall should my radar mount be?
Tall enough that the radar beam clears people on the flybridge or hardtop and other gear like antennas and lights. Aft or forward rake is usually chosen to match the lines of the boat.
What is a wedge for?
A wedge tilts the radar to correct for a mounting surface that isn't level, such as a sloped hardtop, so the radar scans level when the boat is underway.
