Should I choose the 6" or 10" PowerTower height?
Height is about getting the unit above whatever is around it. A taller tower lifts the radar beam over people's heads, other antennas, and nearby structure, and gives more clearance around the unit. Measure what sits nearby on your hardtop or arch before deciding.
How do I get the cables from the mount into the boat?
Plan the cable route before you drill. Run the cable through the mount and into the boat through a deck seal sized for the connector, so you don't have to cut and re-terminate it. Scanstrut cable seals are made for this.
What backing does a mount need?
Any mount carrying a radar or dome sees load every time the boat pounds, so it needs a solid backing plate under the hardtop or deck, not just screws into fiberglass. On a cored surface, seal the core around each hole and bed the fasteners in a marine sealant.
