Garmin Instruments
Garmin GMI 20, GNX 120/130, GNX Wind, and TD 50 marine instruments — wind, depth, speed, and multifunction NMEA 2000 displays. Marine Electric Systems sells and installs Garmin electronics in Annapolis, Maryland, integrating Garmin instruments into NMEA 2000 networks on sailboats and motoryachts across the Chesapeake.
Garmin Instruments FAQ
Do instrument displays include the sensors?
Usually not. The display shows data that sensors put on the NMEA 2000 network: a hull transducer for depth and speed, a masthead sensor for wind, and a GPS or heading sensor for position and heading. You will also need backbone cables, tees, and terminators, found in our NMEA 2000 collection.
Where should instrument displays be mounted?
Mount them in the helmsman's line of sight, on the pedestal, dash, or a mast pod. Keep them at least the manufacturer's compass safe distance from the steering compass and leave room behind the panel for connectors.
Can you install Garmin instruments?
Yes. We design and install complete NMEA 2000 instrument networks, including transducers and masthead sensors, throughout Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay. Call (410) 263-0807 or contact us.
