Endurance 65 Trawler – Solar Power Upgrade for Off-Grid Cruising
Project Description:
This Endurance 65 Trawler was outfitted with a high-performance solar power system to support extended anchoring in remote locations—specifically the sunny, generator-unfriendly waters of the Bahamas. The owner wanted to significantly reduce generator run-time while maintaining full onboard comfort, and Marine Electric Systems delivered.
We installed four Maxeon Max 4 415W solar panels, for a total solar capacity of 1,660 watts. These high-efficiency panels are known for their durability, low-light performance, and unmatched power density—perfect for marine applications.
Under the Bahamian sun, this solar array produces an impressive 50 amps at 24 volts, feeding directly into the vessel’s battery system to keep essential loads running. This setup supports refrigeration, lighting, electronics, and more — all while reducing noise, fuel consumption, and maintenance.
With this solar upgrade, the Endurance 65 is now better equipped for quiet, clean, and independent operation in paradise.
