4 Victron Energy Products You Need for Your Boat marine electric systems

Here are just a few essential Victron Energy products that you should install in your boat today.

Victron Energy is a leading distributor of lithium-ion batteries, battery management systems, solar panels, and more. Their products are sought after by marine enthusiasts everywhere. It is essential to ensure you are using the best marine electronics for your vessel. Luckily, Victron Energy has you covered! Here are just a few essential Victron Energy products you should install in your boat today.

Lynx Smart BMS

The Lynx Smart BMS is the most feature rich and complete option. It comes with a built-in 500A contactor, which is used as a fall-back safety mechanism in an emergency. When running various marine electronics simultaneously, you want to ensure the batteries don’t run out unexpectedly. The Lynx BMS Battery monitor indicates the state of charge percentage, so you always know the status of your batteries. Also, it comes equipped with a pre-alarm signal to warn you before the system shuts down for any reason.

Lynx Distributor

The Lynx Distributor works directly with the Smart BMS. This distributor’s purpose is to monitor each fuse’s status and indicate its condition. When connected to a Lynx Smart BMS, up to four Lynx Distributors can send fuse status information to the Lynx battery management system. A blown fuse can spell disaster for the integrity of your electronic equipment. The Lynx Distributor is your first line of defense against faulty fuses. When a fuse blows, the red fuse LED will illuminate, the power LED will turn red, and an alarm message is sent to the Lynx Smart BMS.

Cerbo GX

The Cerbo GX allows you to always have complete control over your system from wherever you are and maximizes its performance. Thanks to its added Bluetooth capability, you can connect through the Victron Remote Management portal or access it directly using the separate GX Touch or the VictronConnect App. You can instantly monitor the battery state of charge, power consumption, check tank levels and temperature measurements, and much more. The Cerbo GX lets you easily control the shore power input current limit, start/stop the generator, or change any setting to optimize the system.

Quattro-II

Victron Energy’s Quattro-II is also a combined inverter and charger. It can accept two AC inputs and automatically connect to the active source. Its features include a true sine wave inverter, adaptive charging, hybrid PowerAssist technology, and multiple system integration features such as three- or split-phase and parallel operation. The Quattro-II will prevent a limited AC source overload, such as a generator or shore power connection. First, battery charging will automatically be reduced when otherwise an overload would occur. The second level will boost the output of a generator or shoreside supply with power from the battery.
